When Seconds Count: Reaching Personnel through Network-Centric Emergency Alerting

This session will address how network-centric emergency notification systems help organizations successfully prepare for and respond to emergencies, helping them avoid panic and confusion amidst challenging scenarios. It will discuss the complexity of emergency communications for large, intricate organizations, and it will highlight real-world examples of emergencies handled effectively through the use of alerting technology. Additionally, this session will outline ways in which an organization's existing network infrastructure can become a powerful channel for reaching people on and off site within minutes through multiple, redundant means. Communications channels include: computers, cell phones, landline phones, BlackBerry devices, giant voice systems, television, radio, land mobile radios and any other device with an IP interface. Facility managers will learn how to use technology to protect people while also being able to track their status and wellbeing. Session attendees will learn how to effectively prepare for worst case scenarios and use technology as a critical component of their planning and response efforts when confronted with an emergency.
