Room Number:

Presenter(s): Sim Gurewitz, Western Regional Manager, E-Mon, LLC

The presentation will begin with a brief defining overview of electric submeters and their uses, including load profiling, cost allocation, tenant billing, measurement and verification for energy management initiatives and more. A quick survey of submetering equipment, installation and operation will follow, against a backdrop of real-world facility case studies, focusing on cost-reduction strategies and energy savings opportunities. The presentation will also discuss how submeters help facility managers maximize their operational dollar through LEED, EPACT, Demand Response, Renewable Energy and other energy initiatives impacting the facility bottom line.

Learning Objective:

1. Understand the basics of submeter installation operation and application

2. Learn how submetering can achieve significant energy cost savings and reduced energy usage in today’s sustainable facility environment

3. Comprehend how submeters can be used to generate LEED certification points and facilitate cost savings for EPACT demand response, renewable energy and other emerging “green” energy initiatives
