Striving for Excellence: How UNLV Facilities Save

This session details the University of Las Vegas-Nevada Facility Department's success in realizing its goal of saving money while providing a high level of service. Attendees will learn about the array of unique techniques used, including electronic business enhancements (migrating both service requests and status updates on-line), streamlined procurement and warehousing, custodial cleaning adjustments, turf reduction, position management, and energy savings. The end result: more than $11 million dollars saved since 2001 and the coveted Cashman Good Government Award from the Nevada Taxpayers Association.
